Cultimate Foods Secures Funding Under Berlin’s ProFIT Programme

Cultimate Foods has been awarded funding by Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB), co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The funding supports the further development and scaling of Culminate Foods’ biotechnological platform for the production of cultivated animal fat as a functional ingredient to enhance the flavour of plant-based foods.

The funded project focuses on the development of a cost-efficient, animal-free culture medium, the optimization of cell differentiation protocols, and the scale-up of bioreactor processes. These activities aim to enable industrial-scale production and to establish cultivated fat as a viable, sustainable ingredient for next-generation food products.

This support represents an important milestone in advancing sustainable food technologies and strengthening Berlin’s innovation ecosystem in the field of alternative proteins.

Cultimate Foods erhält Förderung im Rahmen des Berliner ProFIT-Programms

Cultimate Foods wurde von der Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) eine Förderung bewilligt, die durch die Europäische Union aus dem Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE) kofinanziert wird. Die Förderung dient der Weiterentwicklung und Skalierung der biotechnologischen Plattform von Cultimate Foods zur Herstellung von kultiviertem tierischem Fett als funktioneller Zutat zur Geschmacksverbesserung pflanzenbasierter Lebensmittel.

Im Mittelpunkt des Projekts stehen die Entwicklung eines kosteneffizienten, tierfreien Kulturmediums, die Optimierung von Differenzierungsprotokollen sowie die Skalierung von Bioreaktorprozessen. Ziel ist es, eine industrielle Produktion zu ermöglichen und kultiviertes Fett als nachhaltige und wirtschaftlich tragfähige Lebensmittelzutat zu etablieren.

Die Förderung stellt einen wichtigen Meilenstein für die Weiterentwicklung nachhaltiger Ernährungstechnologien dar und stärkt den Innovationsstandort Berlin im Bereich alternativer Proteine.
